MDPI Singapore
Established in February 2021, MDPI Singapore is key to MDPI's global mission of supporting open-access publishing and academic excellence. With a dedicated team, we provide tailored support to researchers and institutions across the region, with the goal of creating a dynamic space that fosters collaboration, innovation, and the free exchange of knowledge, strengthening the scientific community in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific.

Our 496 diverse and open access journals, including 487 peer-reviewed journals and 9 conference journals, are supported by more than 295,000 academic experts who share our mission, values, and commitment to providing high-quality service for our authors. We serve scholars from around the world to ensure the latest research is freely available and all content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

Singapore Management Team
Colin Chen
Regional Operating Director
Colin Chen is the Regional Operating Director for Asia-Pacific . He mainly oversees the operations in MDPI Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), and Seoul (Korea) offices, as well as the marketing and editorial activities in other countries in this region. Apart from administrative responsibilities, Colin has also managed or founded the journal Arts, Atmosphere, Cosmetics, Anatomia, and Meteorology.
Wei Thye Lee
Office Manager
Wei Thye Lee is the Office Manager of MDPI Singapore office, whose role is to manage the operations in the Singapore office, with focus on HR and administration, and maintaining institutional partnerships with academic institutions in Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. Furthermore, he also works closely with the Office Editorial Director on editorial outreach, marketing and scholar relationship management.
Alicia Ren
Office Editorial Director
Alicia joined MDPI in 2018 and has since held several important roles within the organization, showcasing her versatility and dedication. She previously served as the Managing Editor for the journal Agronomy, where she showed her editorial expertise while overseeing the publication process. As a Section Leader, she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to excellence.
Yao Tang
IT Manager
Tang Yao joined MDPI in May 2021, contributing over a decade of web development experience. He is responsible for overseeing the web development of the Scilit project and managing IT recruitment and domain names.
Furthermore, Tang also oversees operational maintenance and mail service duties to ensure seamless operations within the organization.
